Alzheimer's disease is difficult for any family to handle. The disease effects both the patient and the caregiver. The patient suffers und psychological and physical symptoms, while the caregiver suffers under stress, psychological repercussions, and self-neglect. This website will help to provide more insight into Alzheimer's Disease, the symptoms and progression of it, and the effects Alzheimer's has on the Caregiver. It will also help to provide tips for Caregivers and promoting the safety of Alzheimer's patients. It is important for a patient diagnosed with Alzheimer's as well as a Caregiver to an Alzheimer's patient, to be able to talk about their feelings and how it the disease is effecting them personally. This may be hard to do with a party that is personally involved in the patient or caregiver's case. There are support groups that provide the counseling and understanding that only others who have shared the same experiences can. If a patient or caregiver is homebound, or unable to attend a local chapter support group, there are many online support groups who provide the same comfort. The links page provides several links to online support groups for those who are in need of someone to listen.
